Trading Adam Jones

I'm being offered Michael Bourn and Justin Smoak for Adam Jones.

I'm in a 14 Team Dynasty (normal 5x5) with the following roster:

1B: Joey Votto, Adrián González, Kila Ka'aihue

SS: Stephen Drew
OF: Justin Upton, Chris Young, Delmon Young, Mike Stanton, Adam Jones, Michael Brantley

SP: Homer Bailey, Cole Hamels, Chad Billingsley, Clay Buchholz, David Price, Brandon Webb
RP: Francisco Rodríguez, Carlos Mármol, John Axford, Brandon Lyon

Adam Jones might be a good player to have long-term but I am going for it this year (Came 2nd last year) and feel that SB is my weakness.

Please do let me know if you would do this.

I ok with this. You don't really need Jones and I have my doubts on how good he is going to be. Bourne will give you plenty of SB and if that is where you think your weakness is then he should help fix that. Plus you get Smoak who at this point last year was a top 5 prospect on most charts.

I'd do this. I do think that Jones comes into his own a little bit with the extra bats in Baltimore this year, but plugging Bourn in will be a good spark. As far as Smoak goes, I think the other owner is way undervaluing him. People are so quick to cross him off as a bust after his first major league stint. The kid was a first round pick for a reason.

I'd pull the trigger.

Personally, I've never really been a Jones fan and last season's disappointing year reinforces that. He does have youth on his side, but I'd say Bourn is more useful to you now than Jones and you're in good shape in the outfield, as far as good short/long-term keepers go. I'd make the deal.

Absoluteley do it! Smoak only would be your third best first baseman but you get what you need in SBs from Bourn, a huge boost.
I've been a Jones fan for a few years but my patience is running thin. He may not be the 20-20 player that I always thought he would develop into.

Thanks guys.. that helps a lot.. I did pull the trigger on the the Trade.. then I went on to trade Smoak and my second round minor league draft pick for Butler.

I think I'm pretty happy with the trade.. I think my team improves in the AVG and SB categories..
