Seems like a lot of people favor Trout so far, but I'm still not convinced he provides more fantasy value than Alvarez. I see HR's, especially in my league to be more valuable than anything else. HR's impact, HR's, R's, RBI's, AVG, OPS, and TB's. Thats 6 out of the 8 batting categories. It seems like the only knack against Alzarez is his plate discipline, or K's if you will. To say that he's a 1 trick pony, I find that hard to believe.
At any rate, Trout has speed, which currently I think I have an advantage in, considering this is the roster that finished 2nd last year in that category missing 1st by only 1. He might offer AVG, probably should, TB's considering his speed, maybe low K value (less K's), R's depending where he bats (looking like 1st).
So I have Alvarez possibly helping me inn 6 categories and Trout with 4. If Alvarez is too fat to play 3b, that will only benefit me anymore so I can slide him to 1b.
I'm leaning towards Alvarez still, but this is a trade that will be open until spring training so I have some time to digest.
