I prefer Alvarez. The main reason is that Trout is still under 20, and is not a sure thing by any means. At least Alvarez has already scratched the surface of his potential and (hopefully) isn't a Dallas McPherson.
Yeah I don't think I'm gonna do this deal, straight up at least.
I think I'd be given up too much. Not that Alzarez is a sure thing, yet, but he has a better chance to improve my team for now. My team is years away, especially in the hitting department, but if I'm gonna deal Alzarez I want to solidify my 1b.
What's your opinions on Trout? I see he's is #1 prospect in most boards, most recently KLaws list, but I'm not a fan of his work.
Can't really go wrong with either one. If I had to choose, I'd go Alvarez as he already has the MLB experience and should produce numbers for your team a lot sooner than Trout will.
apparently alvarez put on a bunch of weight over the off season and hasn't been taking conditioning very seriously. on the flip side, Keith law ranked trout as his number 1 prospect. i'd make the swap.
Great players and deabte. I woudl prefer hanging on to Alverez. Even if you have Zimm at third base, I think there woudl be value in Pedro for a swap. More so than Trout.
Expos... Gone, but not forgotten.

I always worry about hearing these types of things. Either they are gaining weight or losing weight. Never really sure how accurate these things are plus it is over 2 months till the season starts.
But I think I would be ok with either one.

Normally I don't put much stock in the "player x has lost/gained x lbs this offseason" stories, this one came directly from Neal Huntington and he was very critical of Alvarez. There are no sure things in prospects but by the way sciosca raved about him I'd do the deal.
