Dynasty league with prospects

Postby ShdowMastr81 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 3:43 am

I am currently running a 20 team dynasty league. it rosters 25 players (we keep 15 yearly) and we have a 15 player minor league roster. I have been hearing a lot about CBS. We held the league on ESPN last year, but they don't have minor league players. I was forced to create a website www.frdleague.com to keep track of everything ESPN doesn't do.

My question is, does CBS have the player pool large enough to accomodate 300 minor leaguers? Our eligibility is 130AB/50IP as the max limit.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Absolutely. CBS' player database is huge.
The hitters alone---not including pitchers, is probably about 1000 players and the pitchers list is just as long.

Are you in need of a replacement owner?

I actually went onto cbs last night and did a spot search for random players. I found at least 12 prospects that we have in our league that didn't show in their search function. So more than likely we wont be using cbs.

As of right now, we don't have any openings. However we are always taking applications. We are very selective of our managers, since we want to get the best of the best in here. On our website, www.frdleague.com there is a league openings application in the commissioners office. Feel free to submit one and you'll be considered for the next opening.

Not sure how you did a "spot search" but their database is literally 2000+ players strong.
Considering 30 MLB teams have 40 man rosters, thats 1200 players. So their prosects list runs pretty deep.
There is a full list. I'm not sure how you checked but you can actually view the entire list.

Id be interested in the names of the players you checked on just out of curiosity.

My bad..... their list of hitters is over 1800. Hitters only, not including pitchers. So their database is probably closer to 3500.
They have players on their list that are in Class A.

Would you mind sharing where the list of players is located?
The one name that I remember searching for and not finding is Christian Betancourt, ATL C. It will be hard to convince the league to switch to CBS if even one minor league player is missing.

You may have to be a customer to view the list, because the list is in the Draft Prep area.

Your guy was on the list by the way. His name is Christian Bethancourt with an "H"
Yep-- catcher for Atlanta.

What server did you use for your website?
It's a good looking website. Clean and sharp. Do you have to pay for it?
My website is free and I didn't buy a domain name for it, so the web address sucks. http://acba.yolasite.com
But it serves its purpose. I track all the league history on it.
Seems like yours is very much an "In season" type site, which I would think would be a ton of work on a constant basis.

I have found a good free web hosing site, atspace.com . It has no ads on it. You just build your site like you want it and pay nothing. Can't beat it. You can get a domain name at godaddy.com for $9 a year I believe. A good looking site and domain name can be had for almost nothing.
