10 team H2H league with standard scoring except QS instead of W and OBP instead of AVG. As far as keepers, you lose the round that they were drafted in the year before unless they have been kept from the past season. In that case they move up Ex: someone drafts Longoria in the second round in 2009 and keeps them for 2010 they would have had to give up a 2nd rounder, but this season (2011) they move up and give up a 1st. I have put the round I would lose next to each player. Also, we have minor leaguers. If you keep an MiLB player they are a 24th rounder and only move up 1 round each year, so late talent is huge. I need 8 keepers, bold are my thoughts. FYI you can keep more than one in the same round, you just lose the round before it (ie. I keep 3 24 rounders - I lose 22, 23, 24) Finally, you can only keep 2 from rounds 1-5 and 2 from 6-10
C- Miguel Montero (5) 1B - Ryan Howard (1) (I hate giving up 1st rounders, but think he is worth it) 2B - Rickie Weeks (8) (High risk/reward, but 8th is solid for his numbers I believe) 3B - Pedro Alvarez (24) (have too at 24) SS - Ben Zobrist (23) OF - Nelson Cruz (3) OF - Alex Rios (19) (Hope he maintains) OF - Curtis Ganderson (2) UTIL - Prince Fielder (9) (Worth it at 9) BN - Gordon Beckum (23) BN - Michael Young (9)
SP - David Price (23) ( Stud esp at 23) SP - Clayton Kershaw (22) (see comment on Price) SP - Cliff Lee (3) SP - Ubaldo Jimenez (11) (had bad second half, but showed signs of stud. Him over beckum?) SP - Gio Gonzalez (24) SP - Ian Kennedy (24) SP - Carlos Zambrano (11) SP - Fausto Carmona (24) RP - Bill Wagner (7) RP - Carlos Marmol (7) RP - Matt Capps (14) RP - Kevin Gregg (24) RP - Fernando Rodney (9)
Durham Bulls
Jarrod Parker Desmond Jennings Jeremy Hellickson
Hellickson will likely be moved up after the draft and start right away for me
1B Fielder (9) 2B Weeks (8) 3B Alvarez (24) OF Rios (19) SP Jimenez (11) SP Kershaw (22) SP Price (23) SP Lee (3)...figured he is more valuable than Cruz, also a third rounder. Zobrist (23) shouldn't be SS eligible.
Howard has to go. He is very good, but you have another great 1B at a fraction of the cost. Use your first-rounder on the best available hitter, preferably an OF (Cruz? lol).

I agree, You have Fielder at a better rd, Let Howard go and take the hitter avail. Your pitching should be off to a good start with those 4. Zobrist Qs at 2B and OF only to start, but I could see him getting 5 games all over the place in season.
Keeping Howard in the 1st or Cruz in the second is negative value, meaning you are keeping them way over where they should normally be drafted.
If you'd prefer pitching over a 3B/backup 2B you could keep Gio Gonzalez instead of Beckham. Also even without SS you could swap out Zobrist for Beckham if you prefer. But the others I'd set in stone.

One last bump to see if any ideas. I already have 2 7th rounders, which is solid because so many picks are gone in the first 6 rounds. There are only going to be likely 3 teams picking in the first round and the #1 guy is taking Pujols (he had him as a 1 and threw him back knowing he had the 1st pick and could get him back). The second rounder I would acquire for Ubaldo would be about the 5-10 pick overall in the draft and I will already likely have the 3rd and 4th overall in the draft. The question becomes then, who would I keep instead of Ubaldo?
I could give him up and keep Lee. That would still give me a top pitcher in Lee that would not be there come my pick round 3 and I would get an extra pick very early in the draft. The big question I think is whether Ubaldo's talent will sustain for years and his value outweighs the picks this year
