Was at Royals FanFest this weekend and Royals GMDM made it very clear that moving forward Myers will be playing a corner OF spot. I think most people saw this coming but its good to get organizational confirmation. This should fast-track his bat to the major leagues and could get him into the mix very early in the 2012 season.

C to OF switch should usually hurt a prospects stock. In Myers case, I think you can argue it's neutral or slightly helps because this should expedite his route to the majors and the bat could still be elite in RF.

i agree, i dont think it hurts at all...Bat is ELITE regardless of where he plays.

I think typically it hurts their stock when it is a surprise switch. In the case of Myers or Montero, its been pretty much a forgone conclusion that a change was coming and people have tended to rank them as "catchers for now".

Hm Myers or Harper, C's to switch to the OF due to their bat (though maybe Harper could of handled the catcher spot). I wonder who becomes better, answer may be surprising.

There's a chance, but it's quite unlikely. He'll start teh year at AA, and given that control issues, I would expect him to come up after the super 2 time in 2012.

I don't think there's any chance. He was already pushed fast to get to High A last year and there is too much financial incentive to keep a prospect down. Out of the Royals big 3 I think Hosmer is the guy that the question needs to be asked about. Mous should make it up by midseason but Hosmer will be questionable.
