I am in a 10 keeper 12 manager H2H league with normal stats. Wich of those two would you keep, or would you pick one of the following. Johan Santana, Ryan Dempster, Brandon Webb or a long shot at OF Drew Stubbs.
my keepers are:
1B Morneau 2B Brandon Phillips OF Choo OF Granderson OF Ellsbury SP C. Lee SP CC Sabathia SP Greinke SP Carpenter
As you can see, I am loaded at SP, and so far, cant seem to trade one of those SP's for a SS or 3B So with that said, CBills or Wandy? I will deal with the trade if I can, but if it doesnt go through, who?
Since you're already keeping 2 OFs, I'd have to lean toward CBills. That way you don't have to worry about drafting SPs and can load up on offense in the draft. Definitely try to unload one of your SP before the draft though. That could make your decision for you.
I know Carpenter is getting long in tooth, but he has to come in as a keeper still. I could trade him a little easier than CBills or Stubbs if I wanted to. I checked out cbssportline rankings and they have Stubbs ranked 60, Wandy 90 and CBills ranked 100. I dont know if I should just take that like a grain of salt, but it does give me a starting point on what the so called experts think. I have 3 OF's and I am thinking Stubbs or someone comparible would be around in the first few rounds, where CBills would probably be snagged up in the draft a little earlier.
This is going to be a hard decision, but I am leaning towards CBills...
Stubbs trade value is going to be sneaky high; teams will leave the draft and still need sb's. Theres bound to be at least 1 Stubbs backer in every league this year, most likely more than that. I know you don't choose keepers for trade bait but in this case it makes sense. Your SP is pretty well loaded, if its Bills in the 4th slot or the next guy you draft I don't think it makes much difference; your rotation is going to be good with those 3 on top. If you took a poll of players most likely to outperform their draft positionl I think Stubbs would be near the top. He's a popular pick right now that might get those SS's & 3rd basemen that aren't interested in Bills in the offseason. Use that growing popularity to your advantage for your 10th choice
