2010 MLB Draft

Postby MaudDib » Fri Jan 21, 2011 8:18 pm

You have one pick from the 2010 MLB Draft not named Harper, who do you pick?

Manny Machado? Jameson Taillon? Drew Pomeranz? Someone else?

Time doesn't matter only talent. I have no need and actually prefer the guy to stay in the minors for a couple years. My team has plenty of depth.

So who is the best prospect not named Harper in this draft?

Machado over Tailon, but it's close. Than there's a pretty big drop for the rest of the class.

Agreed....although I would not have an issue with someone going Tallion over Machado either. ;-D

Is Belt available? My league is very similar in that mostly only last years class and last years unknowns are available. I would go with him if he is.

I'd probably rank the 2010 guys about like this:

Harper, Bryce
Chapman, Aroldis (Signed in 2010)
Taillon, James
Machado, Manny
Sale, Chris
Pomeranz, Drew
Ranaudo, Anthony
Grandal, Yasmani
McGuire, Deck
Castellanos, Nick
In my fridge: Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS), Central Waters Peruvian Morning, Bell's Batch 10,000, Dale's Pale Ale, Capital Brewery Amber, New Glarus Moon Man, and Guinness.

It is Machado or Tallion. They are very close. I'd lean toward Machado for fantasy though.

When in doubt, take the bat.

That's usually true but I'm not sure about HS draftees that haven't played pro yet. But I'm going to go with the SS here because it is incredibly difficult to find a good SS prospect in the minors. Good/great pitching prospects emerge all of the time.
