Thanks for all the feed back. I'm going to assume here that these prices will remain the same a week from tomorrow when they lock down, so here are my league settings and team prices:
12-team roto (standard stat + Holds/OBP) $26 cap, keeper league. Can keep anyone so long as we're under the cap and have enough money to bid on players we need in the auction. This is my active lineup:
C - Buster Posey (1.00) C - OPEN 1B - Joey Votto (3.10) 2B - Dustin Pedroia (0.10, yes, a dime) SS - Ian Desmond (1.00) 3B - Evan Longoria (3.00) CI - OPEN MI - OPEN OF - Carlos Gonzalez (3.10) OF - Jay Bruce (1.90) OF - Nelson Cruz (2.00) U - Colby Rasmus (2.00) U - Justin Upton (2.00) U - OPEN SP - Justin Verlander (1.80) SP - Zack Greinke (1.60) SP - David Price (1.70) SP - Mat Latos (1.80) SP - Jordan Zimmerman (0.20) RP - Kenley Jansen (0.10) RP - Johnny Venters (0.10) RP - OPEN RP - OPEN
Right now, I sit at $26.50, $0.50 over the cap, but since we need money to bid on players (a minimum of $0.10 per player needed in our active lineup) I need to cut a total of $1.10 to have the minimum bid for the six players I would need in the auction. I'm not under any circumstances cutting any of those guys, so I would want to make a trade that I hope works out. The more I read about Verlander, the more I may opt to keep him. But who would you move to get under salary and who would you target?
Even though prices lock down in a week, we'll still have a good month and change to get salaries under control. Again, appreciate the feed back and hope to hear more! And WHIR as always!

Seeing the prices, I have two separate thoughts. First, I might actually consider trading Price or Latos first, since I think Latos will regress a bit to the mean this year, so selling high on him may be a good idea. Also, rather than dealing from your pitchers, which are sort of expensive, I would think about dealing Votto. He's great, and a first round value, but you could get near his value for less $ at 1B.
Also, on the Anderson-Verlander deal you talked about, that would be a .8 Anderson for a 1.8 Verlander? Its not the greatest, but if you HAVE to do a deal and nothing else comes up you could come out on top, as a healthy Anderson at that price is worth it.
Latos & Rasmus I'd try to move for a slightly cheaper option. I can't imagine Rasmus would go for more than that; I know you said no way you'd let any go, but he doesn't seem to fit in the do not cut group. Rest of the team looks great and you are in a good spot for sure
Here are a couple of offers that I think would work out for me without having to sacrifice too much. My team and needed positions are in my sig.
Deal 1. I give Rasmus (2.00) + Mat Latos (1.80) for Jose Reyes (0.90) + Travis Snider (1.00) + Jordan Walden (0.10). I go from 26.50 down to 24.80 with 1.20 to spend at the auction for needed positions: Catcher, Corner Infield, Utility, Utility and Relief Pitcher
Deal 2A. I give Rasmus (2.00) + Mat Latos (1.80) for Neil Walker (1.00) + Tommy Hanson (1.00) + Drew Storen (0.80). I go from 25.60 down to 25.30 with 0.70 to spend at the auction for needed positions: Catcher, Corner Infield, Utility, Utility and Relief Pitcher.
Deal 2B. I give Rasmus (2.00) + Mat Latos (1.80) for Josh Johnson (1.50) + Drew Storen (0.80). I go from 25.60 down to 25.00 with 1.00 to spend at the auction for needed positions: Catcher, Middle and Corner Infield, Utility, Utility and Relief Pitcher.
Deal 2C. I give Rasmus (2.00) + Mat Latos (1.80) for Ubaldo Jimenez (1.40) + Drew Storen (0.80). I go from 25.60 down to 24.90 with 1.10 to spend at the auction for needed positions: Catcher, Middle and Corner Infield, Utility, Utility and Relief Pitcher.
Working with the deals of No. 2, Ideally I think I would want 2A, but the owner is balking at wanting to move Hanson, he offered Josh Johnson instead, but I'm kinda wary of his shoulder problems last year. I inquired about Ubaldo and he would consider him in the deal instead. Though deals 2B and 2C can't give me the freedom of getting Neil Walker.
Forgot to mention, these offers aren't set in stone, the names are being thrown around by both me and the other owners. A deal won't be made until next week at the earliest until prices are locked down.
Which of the four deals you all like best? WHIR as always!

I like all those deals obviously. sometimes when you have to slash you have to settle.you aren't.Value on Reyes seems really sweet to me; you keep all your core players and add a key middle. Jimenez, JJ and Hanson if you go that way I like 'em all. ...Liking your team alot; you are headed for a heckova season/next few seasons
Got a deal struck. I give up Rasmus and Latos and I receive Jimenez and Storen. With this trade I go from 26.50 to 24.90 and it gives me 1.10 to spend on my six open slots (Catcher, Utility, Utility, Corner Infield, Middle Infield, Relief Pitcher). However, I won't pull the trigger until a week from today when prices are locked down and I know for sure what my prices are.
My team would look like:
C - Buster Posey C - OPEN 1B - Joey Votto 2B - Dustin Pedroia SS - Ian Desmond 3B - Evan Longoria MI - OPEN CI - OPEN OF - Carlos Gonzalez OF - Nelson Cruz OF - Jay Bruce U - Justin Upton U - OPEN U - OPEN SP - Zack Greinke SP - David Price SP - Ubaldo Jimenez SP - Justin Verlander SP - Jordan Zimmerman RP - Drew Storen RP - Kenley Jansen RP - Johnny Venters RP - OPEN
Minors - Eric Hosmer Minors - OPEN

Salaries have been updated and now they have been locked, so this is what my salary is, $25.90, a dime under the cap. However I still need to make a move in order to have enough cash to bid on my vacant slots.
My team:
C - Buster Posey (1.10) C - OPEN 1B - Joey Votto (3.00) 2B - Dustin Pedroia (0.10, yes, a dime) SS - Ian Desmond (1.00) 3B - Evan Longoria (2.90) CI - OPEN MI - OPEN OF - Carlos Gonzalez (3.00) OF - Jay Bruce (1.80) OF - Nelson Cruz (1.90) U - Colby Rasmus (1.90) U - Justin Upton (1.90) U - OPEN SP - Justin Verlander (1.80) SP - Zack Greinke (1.60) SP - David Price (1.70) SP - Mat Latos (1.70) SP - Jordan Zimmerman (0.30) RP - Kenley Jansen (0.10) RP - Johnny Venters (0.10) RP - OPEN RP - OPEN
I have an offer of Drew Storen (.70) for my Rasmus and you can see I need saves. Would you do this, or would you Rather move Rasmus for something else, or even moving Cargo for a couple of nice young players that could make an impact? I need the saves and hopefully Storen can be one of my guys, but is that the right way to go?
Thanks and WHIR!
