I'm looking to pick up a useful guide to prospects for this season. It's the first time I've done a league that has an extensive minors component, and need a good resource.
Right now I'm looking at two different books, and would like the Cafe's opinion on them. Weigh in, and let everyone know the pluses and minuses of each. If you have a strong preference, I'd love to hear it.
In this corner is Baseball America's 2011 Prospect Handbook. Good tradition, known for outstanding work on rating prospects for the majors.
In the other corner is Ron Shandler's Baseball HQ Minor League Baseball Analyst. This will be the 6th edition, with an emphasis on sabermetrics and fantasy players.
So, which one would you recommend?
"The game has a cleanness. If you do a good job, the numbers say so. You don't have to ask anyone or play politics. You don't have to wait for the reviews." - Sandy Koufax
