An even better time to let it go would have been when the thread was locked.
I've been diving into more political conversations lately (the pedophilia book and then this), and I'd have imagined that the Thanksgiving flap also would've lost me a few millimeters. I've never been at full friendliness before. Weird.

No one pays attention to that though, plus it's invite-only apparently. Political Discussions should be a subforum of GT, visible at the top and open to all with some kind of warning that misbehavior will result in a temporary suspension and repeated disrespect will result in a ban from Political Discussions.
Does this version of phpBB have a split thread function? Because you could totally split topics like the "weird news" one at the point where it became political and move the latter half to PD to keep GT pure.
