Its that time of year again where baseball is in the air, pitchers and catchers report a month from tomorrow!!!

Now on to more important things....keepers. I have a pretty bad set of players, worst i've ever had. I had a good team last year but made some bad trades and traded my way out of placing ( finished 8th). However, I do have a lot of youngsters on my team and would appreciate you guys having a look! I am in a 5x5 12 team yahoo league league! We Keep five!

Mark Teixeira (definite)
Andre Ethier (definite)
Desmond Jennings (almost definite)

Drew Stubbs ?
Austin Jackson?
Billy Butler?
Brennan Boesch?
Matt Wietiers ?
Jimmy Rollins?
Jay Bruce?

I would keep those three and Austin Jackson and Billy Butler. Tempted to keep Rollins but he is way too inconsistent for me and getting kinda old.

I agree with your first 3 keepers, however there is talk that Jennings might begin the season in the minors, even with the loss of Crawford. Just a heads up there.

Now for your last two, I think you have to keep Rollins, maybe a tad older but still has some seasons left. PLUS SS is not the friendliest position, Talent drops off huge, after the big guys are taken. And your last slot, go with Jackson or the ever talented Matt Wietiers who will figure it out sooner or later, and it might be this season.

I would go big right now. You could use a couple of big time bats and you aren't going to get those from Rollins or Butler. I would keep Bruce and Wieters. I know this is probably the minority but I think both of these guys are primed to have good years if not big years. It is a gamble but sometimes that is what it takes to take a team from middle of the pack to the championship.

You're likely to get Jennings back in the draft and I wouldn't bank on youngsters who have yet to cement a starting role, especially when you're only keeping 5.

Rollins, Bruce, and Butler are your next best three.

Yea I am think you guys are right, I won't keep Jennings. I made some deals last year and I got a first round pick, so I have the 5th and 10th overall pick SO i think i'm in pretty good shake if I still want to get him but I bet there may be some better options at 5th over all.
