CBS:
Jon Rauch, RP TOR News: Blue Jays RP Jon Rauch (appendectomy) will throw a simulated game on Tuesday, reports MLB.com on Monday. Rauch could be activated by Thursday if all goes well. Analysis: Apparently, Rauch may not need an injury rehab assignment as first thought. That is good news for him and for the Blue Jays. Rauch will likely close games for the Blue Jays once he is healthy, so continue to stash him in deeper Fantasy formats. He could be a low-end option for saves when active.
It appears that Rauch may be given back the closer job, but this is certainly not for sure. FF has been pretty good to really good lately so there's no reason necessarily to automatically give Rauch back the job, it's not like Rauch was a lockdown closer before the appendicitis. Also interesting that the Blue Jays manager John Farrell won't be on the bench for the entire Orioles series from Tues through Thurs, so who knows what the bench coach will do.
I'm new to the board. I just started a blog and traffic is slow so far. Thought I'd try running some of the articles by you guys to see what you think.

It appears, in classic Tony La Russa fashion, that he (TLR) has decided that he doesn't want a set-in-stone closer but will go with whatever pitcher he feels like or whatever pitcher he think will perform best to get the save. Knowing him, he probably won't name a closer and we will be forced to guess what pitcher he "feels" like using that day. Notably, though, Motte has been lights out lately, so if I had to guess, I would think that TLR would go with him, but it's always impossible to say for sure with him. aaaaand were back to Salas closing.
tonight Motte came in during the 8th with nobody on and 1 out. Then Rcezenzbykzskizkie came on for the 9th to face Prince, and walked him. Salas then took over and walked his first batter before getting a ground out, the a double play ball, to end the game and record the save.

I think its firmly established that Betancourt is closing for the Rockies right now. Brothers' only save was after Betancourt had pitched 2 consecutive nights for saves. Street is back but currently Jim Tracy is saying Betancourt is closer.

This is true. Betancourt will close for COL until Street eases back into the role. When this happens, Betancourt will return to set-up duty. But even when this happens, Street is quite injury prone so Betancourt may prove very valuable during fantasy playoffs.
