Marcum was traded to the Brewers.

Michael Young said Monday that he is willing to move to designated hitter if the club signs Adrian Beltre.
"I want to do what I need to do stay with this team," said Young. "I'm proud to be part of this team and I want to be here." That's what we like to hear. Beltre is hands down one of the best defensive third basemen in the sport, so even if Young isn't thrilled about the possibility of moving to DH, at least he realizes that fact.
Sounds like Young will play DH and be a super-utility guy spelling all infielders.
Wow... do people never learn? I never thought Beltre would get more than a 3 year deal plus an option for big dollars, which would have been a good signing.
While I think Fenway was the optimal place for Beltre to hit for 81 games a year, Arlington ain't so bad either... where will he go in drafts this year? 3B is pretty thin... maybe 5th round?
This is the best possible option for Boston, who now get Texas' 1st round pick out of it.

Last time I checked, Texas had a stacked farm system too... they could have definitely gotten a deal done.

... but alas, if you haven't figuered it out yet... Nolan might over-value his boys a bit.

Victor Martinez is in Detroit, so Beltre is safe... for now.
