Apple makes TV's now
haha.
Wait...do they?
Seriously though, I've been looking at Samsungs. I have several friends who swear by them and have heard great things in general. Anyone have a differing opinion?
I have a Samsung for my dorm room that has been great. When I get around to needing a bigger living room TV I'll most likely pick between Samsung and Sony.

All my friends have Sanyos and they love them. My Toshiba is pretty JIMPifying
Make sure you get at least 100 Hz, USB holes and PC connectivity.
Cafe bets 2010: W/j24jags - Oakland A's more wins then NYM W/mweir145 - Oakland A's more wins then TOR (hat-trick?)
Under the right circumstances, plasma is the best buy if you aren't looking to spend a ton on LED. You can get 50" plasmas right now for around 600 dollars. They don't have issues with burn in anymore or lifespan issues and give you all the benefits that LEDs give. The only thing with Plasmas is that you need to have a room that doesn't have a lot of light coming in or you'll get glare even on Plasmas that have anti-glare. But, if you are putting it in a room where you aren't letting a ton of natural light in you can't beat the quality and price of a plasma. I love my Panasonic 50".

I've had my 50" Samsung since 2006 and have zero complaints.
Which model do you have? If you have an S2 or a C2 try and use these calibration settings. They are amazing. You have to go into the service menu on the tv but it's really simple.
