Furcal vs. K. Matsui

Postby Paco625 » Fri Mar 26, 2004 5:12 pm

I know Matsui is a big question mark this year but what does everyone think about him compared to Furcal?

Do you think he will put up comparable numbers? Can Furcal duplicate his season from last year?

Who would you rather have?

Furcal, without a doubt.

Actually, let me put a stipulation on that. If I could get Matsui 4-5 rounds later than Furcal, maybe Matsui, but as highly as he is seemingly rated by everyone else, that is unlikely.

I have already drafted, and I know this isn't the forum for trades, but what do you think of:
I give:
P. Wilson & Furcal
I get:
Schilling & Matsui

I know its tough without seeing my team, but my offense is pretty solid and I am missing the stud pitcher.

I apologize for the trade question, just read the post.

Any projections for Matsui this year?

I'd hate to judge that without knowing the whole story. Post your roster and I will at least vote.

12 team, roto, categories:
R 1B 2B 3B HR RBI SB CS BB K PO A E AVG
IP W L CG SHO SV H K ERA WHIP

My team:
C - LeCroy
C - Phillips
1B - Pujols
2B - Alomar
3B - Teixeira
SS - Furcal
CI - Sexson
MI - Reyes
OF - Ordonez
OF - Wilson
OF - Ichiro
Util - Crawford
BENCH - Baldelli & Mauer

SP - Zito
SP - Beckett
RP - Rhodes
RP - Dotel
P - Herges
P - Morris
P - Garcia
BENCH - Myers, Meche, & Nen

The scoring is a little crazy. I feel that field players are more valuable than pitchers bec there are more categories. However, I really need that stud SP.

What do you think?
