League Settings...What is the better Adjustment?

Postby Phreedom32 » Thu Dec 16, 2010 6:23 pm

Hey guys,

Our league is 12 teams, 5x5 H2H...Last year we did the Yahoo Standard...10 hitters including 2 Util spots...8 pitchers...this year we are going to move up to the 14 hitter/9 pitcher w/ same bench spots at 5...we may drop the 2nd catcher spot and just do 13 hitters, but either way we are expanding the rosters. A few vocal people in the league have an incessant fear of streaming and Closers...they want to implement a higher inning minimum than Yahoo's 7 innings standard. What do you guys think about that? I've mentioned possibly adding Losses as a category to combat the streaming worries but won't that just damage players value/skew them? Felix...Greinke...etc...Also to even things out and make it 6x6 league IF we do the LOSS category...We are considering Total Bases or Extra Base Hits...Which of those do you like better? Or do you say Neither cuz LOSSES is WHACK? Thanks and sorry for the complicated Questions...

Last year I played on ESPN in a H2H league. ESPN has an option to limit the pitcher starts each week. We used a max of ten. This is an excellent way to stop streaming. I have never played on Yahoo, so I don't know if they have this option or not. Ten starts does not limit a team but puts all on an even basis. == I don't quite understand the problem you are referring to with Closers. == I would not use LOSSES as a catagory. It does not prove anything as a middle relief guy can end up with a loss just as easy as a starter. I would stick with the standard 5 X 5 catagories.

agree not to use losses. i use a 30 min ip and it works fine. 30 works good....you have to start some SPs but doenst make you start each one. also i limit pickups per week to 4...which has stopped streaming

i woudl add holds. i love holds. opens up so many more players in teh player pool. does devalue saves some...but oh well. w the good comes the bad

and i like adding OPS in hitting
