Over the next six years with the Phillies he'll make roughly $135million, say he signs for 9mil the next year bringing his seven year earnings to $144 million. 10million shy of what he'd have made in NY.
We are talking about a 6.9% increase in his income. Is 10million alot, yea, but it is relative whether you like it or not.
if your making 100,000 and I offered you 106,900 to take a different job away from one that you loved....would you?
if your making 50,000 and I offered you 53,450 to take a different job away from one that you loved...would you?
Taking into consideration that the 6.9 increase i'm offering has no impact on your standard of living.
Its relative, the guy is set for life and he knows it, and is making 120+ million in Philadelphia. 10million over seven years is nothing to Cliff Lee at this point.
