Been running our Keeper/Dynasty league for 8 years now and its time to upgrade from yahoo. Looking to see if anyone out there has found a site which allows teams to trade draft picks? We currently use yahoo and I as the commish am just straight tired of having to track each and every damn trade! Fanball allows it on their football site but as of last year the baseball site did not... I also want the site to allow year round access...Any thoughts?
you'll absolutely love the cbs commish service, we've already had 1 round of trading with draft picks during the gm meetings. Now if you can convince the other owners that $10 or $12 a head is worth making the switch is the big question. You can get a discount in year 1, but after that it'll run you $150 a league per season. If you are serious about fantasy baseball and don't mind paying for the best you'll love all the options available as commish. BTW, they have a short trial period if you don't decide not to keep it, you'll get refunded. Alot of guys that have played yahoo don't care as much for something new, but once you get used to it, its almost all good. trading draft picks(it lists them right there with your roster in the trade feature), league history, same page available 365 days for as many years as you stay, correctable errors in scoring or transactions; you'll be amazed at all the stuff you can do. Commish service for new leagues isn't available yet, but do check it out once they open fantasy bb for 2011
Fast Dogs is absolutely correct. CBS is the best site. You may think that $150 is a lot, but divided by your league members it is only at most $15 a person for six months of fun. You can't go to a movie and buy popcorn for $15.
we used CBS one year but my only concern is year round access, does it allow it? trading is a big part of our dynasty league and we want to be able to do it all year
Yes, it allows year round access. The only restriction is from the end of the season until about mid November. For example if this year you had traded some players before the 2010 stats were closed in mid-November, it would affect the standings. After mid-November, things are fine to trade or what ever you want.
the cbs free leagues you don't have access all year, the commish leagues will be there every day the same place for as many years as you keep playing. even during the short archive period you can continue to make trade offers and agree to trades, maybe you'll just have to wait until the archive process is completed to process them thru.we're only talking a few weeks of down time for trading, the league home page never gets shut down
Has anyone ever tried fantrax.com? They haven't been around that long but seem to have everything CBS has and more, including draft pick trading, and they have free commissioner leagues. Their support so far has been pretty impressive too.. they usually answer within an hour or so.
CBS is by far and away the best fantasy baseball site. It has more features than anywhere else--and there is LOADS of customizing. You can trade draft picks and you can makes off season moves (adds/drops/trades) or you as commissioner can control those features (turn them on and off), but the page is available year round. CBS archives all the seasons too so you have good history once you've been going for a few years. $150 is well worth it when everyone chips in their share of $15.
Is there a way to sort of surf sample pages or see the options and look of a CBS Commissioner league? I've always been a USAstats/Allstarstats user, but am curious if CBS is a better/cheaper option.
