But according to some here, Bonds didn't use PEDs but had career years. Seriously, I am not sure 32 means you won't plateau some. We won't see improvement for sure with the usual suspects, but I am not so sold they will decline to the point. i think it makes for some interesting talking points, but the fact of the matter is this team made the NLCS last year and lost werth but gained lee while the other teams in their division remained basically stagnant.
And age is a concern. I don't know the answer to this per se, but utley and howard are also "young" for their age, as they were both blocked to some degree by polanco and thome. So is the age thing a function of aging or miles on the body? I don't know and it has probably been answered. they were third in run differential in a hitters park, so you don't have to fool around with kendrick, happ or moyer and only have one crappy starter? I think it is offset. And they could still sign a magglio or something too. hitting goes cold, but shoring up the rotation makes up for it. And depending on how it pans out, but we shall see with a rotation like this, (and this is just a Philly fan wet dream) but you don't really need 4 in the post season. If these guys REALLY want to win, it's not like you can't bullpen one of those guys as needed for a round.
if the phillies effectively platoon ibanez, francisco, brown, gload, and a yet to be acquired right handed bat in the 2 corner OF spots, id venture to say they score a very similar amount of runs in 2011 than they did in 2010.
