Werth to the Nats

Jayson Werth will sign a seven-year contract with the Nationals, according to SI.com's Jon Heyman.
Werth was thought to be seeking a contract similar to Matt Holliday's seven-year, $120 million deal and it looks like he's going to get it from Washington. It's a gigantic risk for the Nationals, who have been spurned by many top free agents the last few years and may have overpaid in this case to procure a signature. Werth turns 32 next May and will be closing in on 40 by the time this contract ends.
