1986 and baseball music videos....

Postby dAnzac » Fri Dec 03, 2010 8:10 am

What happened in 1986 that made baseball do this?
This is some of the worst crap I have ever seen :-o :-o :-o

1986 Dodgers

1986 Mets

Bonus: The 1986 Mets trying to prove that pro baseballers rapping won't sound like a donkey chewing on a tin can. They FAIL.

Does anyone have anything equally heinous or worse (not that that exists)?

I'm guessing it was because the NFL had a ton of success with those stupid videos right around that time. I think pretty much every NFL team made one in 1986, and the Bears one went pre-internet viral.

If you want to see a painful result from the phenom, check out the 1986 Boston College hockey team rap. By far one of the scariest things ever.

How on earth can people be so bad at rapping? I realize that for some of those guys, they probably didn't even hear their first rap song until adulthood, so it's not as if they'd be familiar with it from radio/tv/commercials/etc., like people are now, but still...how can they possibly be that bad?

...and not too long after that, that craze also invaded England. Ironically, Liverpool. They gave you the Beatles and you lot inspired them to do this:

Anfield Rap

Yes, those are Liverpool players and the manager joining in (Kenny Dalglish).
