Unique Deep Dynasty has opening

Postby Scott Boras Client » Fri Nov 19, 2010 11:49 pm

We're a sabermetrically-inclined deep dynasty league that strives to reproduce MLB roster management and scouting challenges as closely as possible. We use a modified rotisserie scoring system to set the playoff field, and then Diamond Mind Baseball to settle the playoffs in the offseason. Annual draft fills 40 minor-league slots, not counting players on optional assignment. Minor-league knowledge or willingness to acquire it strongly preferred. Please email igreen01(at)yahoo(dot)com if interested.

Here are some pretty unique things you can do in our league but few others:
Decide when to pull your ace in Game 5 of the wildcard playoff series in order to start playing matchups
Defer a young player's free agency by locking him up to a long-term extension
Collect a sandwich-round compensation pick for losing a type B free agent
Pass up a college pitcher in the draft in order to sign a 16-year-old Venezuelan
Lose a player in the Rule V draft
Spend as much, or as little on your roster as you would like
Pay luxury tax
Meet other owners at the annual league social

We prefer sane, responsible, but more than a little obsessive compulsives. This is a league you join for the long run if you enjoy building via draft, trades and ludicrously excessive free-agent contracts; you're unlikely to contend for the championship next year.
