This is semi-true though, you realize that right?
Semi, but it's not really, because Sayers and Jackson were established superduermegastars. Oden is a tease who hasn't shown much yet and is about to give Sam Bowie a run for his money.

The comparison the radio guy used was weak because of what you point out, but it'd be unfair to say that Oden has been a bust when his inability to produce is almost solely due to injury. I think we're on the same page here.

P.S. Jeter was robbed
Local clown Mike Adams started to do the same thing up here; it took me .3 seconds to change it to 98.5, where DA started saying you can't call Greg Oden a bust, it's like calling Bo Jackson and Gale Sayers a bust because injuries not performance was the problem.
Had a nice quiet ride home from work tonight.
Ugh, I hate me some New England sports talk radio...

The difference is Bo Jackson and Gayle Sayers were going to be the next... Bo Jackson and Gayle Sayers, Oden was supposed to be the next Bill Russell - Shaq hybrid, but never did it. The only thing keeping Oden from being a complete bust is that in a year or so he has a chance to come back and be something.
I don't think somebody is a bust if they are unable to stay healthy. Busted? Maybe, but a bust is somebody who has expectations and never lives up to them. Darko Milicic and Ryan Leaf are the best examples of that (although the former has played well this year).
Anyone worried about Felix's stamina? He logged a hefty 249 IP this year. I couldn't find the Pitcher Abuse Points stat from Baseball Prospectus, but I would worry about the number of innings and pitches considering his age.

Nah, even the SABER community is changing it's tune in light of what CC and Verlander have been doing. Seattle did a good job of limiting him earlier on. He's a beast and looks to be the type that can handle the heavier loads for the long run.

He could have been in the 270+ range.
He's a horse.
To the best of my knowledge they only skipped his last start of the season. I take it Zduriencik didn't want to push him any further in a meaningless start. I hope he's a beast this year as well.
