Felix Hernandez was named the AL's Cy Young Award winner on Thursday after receiving 21 of 28 first-place votes.
Score one for progress. Despite his 13-12 record, Hernandez led the league in ERA (2.27), innings pitched (249 2/3) and finished second in strikeouts (232) and WHIP (1.06). If the Mariners fielded anything close to a respectable lineup, his win-loss record would have been very different. The voters should be congratulated for getting this one right. David Price, who finished second on the ballot, received four first-place votes, while CC Sabathia, who finished third on the ballot, received three first-place votes. Jon Lester, Jered Weaver and Clay Buchholz also received strong support from the voters. Source: BBWAA.com

Local clown Mike Adams started to do the same thing up here; it took me .3 seconds to change it to 98.5, where DA started saying you can't call Greg Oden a bust, it's like calling Bo Jackson and Gale Sayers a bust because injuries not performance was the problem.
