For those who have it what do you think? I actually think I like Modern Warfare 2 better as of now...

My students have talked about this game constantly for days. The only thing I'm sure of is that none of them are getting laid now or any time soon.

I picked it up and I like it so far. I think the graphics and hit detection definitely took a turn for the worse but I do enjoy playing without giant explosions and killstreaks going off every five seconds. I also like the new unlocking system better than the old one. I'll stick it out for a while and see how it goes but so far I think there are a lot less cheesy tactics online which might make me stick with it.

And the save matches thing is freakin awesome. ;-D ;-D

How does that even happen? Is this a rebuild or a new company?

I have the game, but have played it sparingly so far on my work breaks (as well as FIFA 11, of course). Nothing truly world-shattering, but as with all Call of Duty games, it's great fun. The visual hiccups here and there really don't detract from the experience.

I was wondering the same thing... I know Treyarch took over for Infinity Ward but it's still Activision's game so I don't know how all that stuff works. :*) Seemed to me they should be able to build around the previous game but it looks like they started from scratch. :-S

Both of those companies were bought out by Activision. It's just a different studio handling the development (Treyarch) while Activision simply publishes the games.

They developed the game from the same engine as previous games. Of course, with more improvements, overall.

just tried this on the PC. It wont' connect to server for online play, period. I have opened the ports that I saw referenced online both for CoD and Steam.

I've seen Steam suck large for a long time now w/ half-life.

So I don't know if it's Steam, the game itself, or something I've yet to figure out. Anyone play this on the PC, and if so, have you had issues or am I special?
