Cliff Lee and Tulo for Albert? WHIR!

Postby bigjakelane » Mon Nov 15, 2010 10:26 pm

Just finished 3rd in my league this year, not too happy about not winning, so pulling all the stops to make sure it doesnt happen again next year. Can I afford/should i pull the trigger on this deal? My lineup is as follows:
C-JoeMauer
1B-Miguel Cabrera
2B-Ian Kinsler
SS-Troy Tulowitzki
3B-Evan Longoria
Lf-Matt Holliday
Cf-Matt Kemp
Rf-Justin Upton
Util-Ryan Braun
Bn-Jimmy Rollins
Sp-Johan Santana, Francisco Lirano, Ubaldo Jiminez, Cliff Lee, Chris Carpenter
(I've dropped all other players not worthy of keeping by myself or any other team)

It's a 10 team league where we keep 10, so obviously I already have more keepers than I'm allowed, trying to trade up. WHIR!!!

1. You can definitely AFFORD to make the deal.
2. Unless the other guy has Pee Wee Herman playing SS and a non-existent pitching staff I don't see him dealing Pujols for those two even though they are very good

Honestly, your entire roster is already quite strong and instead of getting Pujols I'd be looking to upgrade Kinsler to somebody like Cano and be done with it.

Not sure this deal would be good for you. You don't need a 1B and there is a big drop from Tulo to Rollins. I would trade off Rollins and Kinsler and like the poster above said, go after an upgrade at 2B. That and I would look at moving some of those older arms for something a little younger.

I would stand fast also. If everyone plays to their potential, you will be tough to beat. Like the others said, look to upgrade at 2B and you're be all set ;-D

After keeping these 8, I'd be looking to move any 2 or 3 of the others to upgrade yourself at 2nd, not sure you could land Cano but, Utley had an off year, maybe his owner could be a player.
