Is this worth it? THanks and Happy Friday!

Not sure I fully understand the question. Why would you have to give a 2nd round draft pick? Is that if you keep Beckett you lose your draft pick or to get the deal done will you have to throw in the pick?

Straight up, I would do this deal pretty easily. Beckett has been too much up and down over his career and we could be seeing end of that as well. Buchholz is younger and I think just getting to his peak and should have at least a few years of success at that level.

How many teams and how many players will be kept? It pretty much comes down to just how valuable that 2nd round pick is.

Thanks guys for the responses.

There are 20 teams and we get to keep 14 players going into it. So the draft will be 11 rounds and i get the 1st overall pick. No snake draft this time which benefits me since i was in last place. The other manager would have to give me a draft spot in return of course to make things even.

here's my team thus far:

C: W. Myers
1B: Fielder
2B: Beckham
3B: Alvarez
SS: Grant Green
LF: A. Gordon
CF: B. Upton

SP: Beckett
SP: Price
SP: J. Garcia
SP: J. Zimmermman
SP: M. Montgomery

RP: Masterson
RP: J. Vazquez

Thanks again!

some leagues there are alot of expiring contracts or such and a 2nd round pick can be very valueable; if thats not the case & this pick would only be about the 300th ranked player then yes do the trade

Being a Redsox fan I would do Beckett for Buchholz in a min.I f you have to throw in a 2nd rder for maybe a third. Do it.
I'm not sure I would keep Vazquez unless he goes to the NL. Just a thought.

I certainly like Buchholz over Beckett. It seems like a 2nd round pick isn't worth very much since you keep so many players, so I would take this deal.
