generally speaking, I don't think 11 pitchers need to be in the top 35 spots; you can start with JJ @ 22 and move the entire bunch down about a round. Hitters get drafted early unless its a league where SP carry more value; after the first 5 aces go off the board I think the rest get pushed back. In the 1 league I had a new draft in last year 10 pitchers were taken in 55 picks; the names have changed but I think the hitters go early and often again.
I still have a hard time believing Utley makes it out of the 2nd round in any size league.
Choo is a nice player but 29 seems way too soon
Delmon Young goes with Bautista, Ellsbury, Kinsler & Beltre still available? Similiar to Prado, great year but no way he's a 67 . You might be weighing the 2010 final rankings too heavily

We are trying to stretch it out, but I don't think it will take all 4 months.

This is the 2nd year of the league and the first year for us to try this. We give each manager 24 hours to make his pick, but whenever he picks, the clock starts on the next guy. So far, we have had 10 picks in 3 days. We have 10 teams with 40 man rosters so that is 400 total picks. (400 picks/120 days=3.3 picks/day) We'll see.

The 2 interesting things about this league are 1-we assigned salaries to players based on our rankings and have a salary cap. 2-when drafting a player you get to decide how many years you want to keep that player at his given salary.(1-5 yrs) Our goal is to make this league similar to being a GM and building a team with payroll limits. So there is a lot to consider when drafting.

Here's how the first round went: Albert, Miggy, Cano, Felix, Hanley, Halladay, Tulo, Braun, Votto, CarGo. (i took Hanley at #5)
