Ray's Rankings 2011 - updated 12-15

Postby Ray Zorback » Thu Nov 11, 2010 2:38 pm

Edit: I have combined 4 main sources to come up with this list. (2011 projections from diamonddraft.com, 2010 final rankings from baseballmonster.com, ESPN top 200 keepers, & CBS initial top 300 FOR '11) I plan on updating thru the off-season. I'm asking the Cafe to help me make it better. Thanks in advance.

Who should be higher or lower?
Who did I leave off?

Utley needs to be much, much higher. Love McCutchen but thats way too high for him; same for Delmon Young minus the love part. Too low on Cruz & Pedroia; too high on Prado & Ichiro. Posey's ADP will be alot sooner, Johan's injury knocks him out of the top 200 if the reports are correct? Not sure why you have Strasburg there.Abreu can be alot later. Hard to rank Sizemore but he needs to be moved way up as well
Very difficult task with so little to compare to, I hope the Cafe keeps that in mind

Agree with fast dogs.

Utley and Posey are both way way too low.

I think Hamilton is a little low - was thinking right around #10.

What say you, Cafe'ers?

I think his inability to play a full year will keep people from wanting to spend a first round pick on him.

I also think Votto is too high. I would put him more in the 7/8 range. Pedroia and Ellsbury are too low. Probably Kinsler is too low as well. Young way too high. Not sure I am ready to put Heyward in the top 50 yet. Not sure that Howard isn't too high, I think he might fall into the end of the 3rd round area.

apperently Bryce Harper is putting on a show in AFL.. any chance he plays next year? if so, where is he on this list?

I think Reyes is an interesting player on here.. we saw glimpses of the old reyes during the season, but the oblique was holding him back all year.. gotta be under the presumption that he is completely healthy by next year.. which means he is one of 3 star-level shortstops..

I think Jason Heyward is too low. I can't see him putting up worse numbers than shin-soo choo and he's has the potential for greatness.

I don't know if this is right or wrong, but those are some monster hits taken for sandoval and Lind just for having a bad season..
