It's not a bad trade for either team. Oakland is hoping he has a good year and becomes type A. Mazzaro isn't anything special and neither is Marks.

Mazzaro had maturity issues, and Marks is nothing more then an interesting lottery ticket at this stage.

Now we just have to kick the tyres on Uggla and Berkman and kick back our heels.

Not even that. From what I've read, his ceiling isn't too high, although the K/9 looks promising.

GMDM made some really good moves last season, but the timing on this one just doesn't make much sense unless DM really has a plan for the $8m saved from losing DeJesus and Banny. Judging by his free agent history that probably isn't the case.

Enjoy DDJ Oakland, he is a guy that won't overwhelm you with his slash line, but he is a great all-around player who might be one of the most enjoyable personalities we've had in KC for a long time. He is one of those players that you can tell loves to be out there playing.
