lol nobody uses those forums. the last time a post was in there was 2008, he would get a total of zero responses if he posted this there.

Dunn would be a good target for them as his power plays in pretty much any stadium, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to DH so he'll probably stay in the NL. I can definitely see them trading one of their young starters for a bat, especially after they sign Iwakuma. They're gonna have quite a pitching surplus at that point. I don't know anything about Nishioka, and I think Chavez is pretty much done though an incentive laden contract can't really hurt.

no advertising rule...
i could be wrong, but i see a lot of guys like that on other forums too. they usually try to make relevant posts to make it not seem so obvious.

pretty sure quite a few people have links to other sites in their sigs. if they aren't actively spamming the forums telling people to go to their website i dont think it's that big of a deal. then again, i'm not in charge so it's not my call.

Welcome to the cafe eric

Dunn doesn't want to be a fulltime DH, and won't be in our price range. I'm very wary of signing Manny, but if he comes under a pay for play contract I might be interested. I just can't see Boras accepting a number low enough for us to sign him though.

ericchow wrote:2nd- Trade Cahill/Taylor/Ellis for Matt Kemp

I think Cahill only will be enough to snag Kemp. This trade makes perfect sense, I hope it happens.

ericchow wrote:3rd- Sign Tsuyoshi Nishioka to play 2B

Nah, I can't see them being interested.

No no no nonononononononononono.

After Kemp (or whoever Cahill brings us) we'll probably need one more bat. I can see us (instead of Manny) going for Lance Berkman. He'll be in our price range, as he had a down year, and can still play 1B to a high standard (6.5 UZR/150 in 2010). He could also play a really crappy OF. I think he'll be our DH and we'll jettison Cust (again).

You guys really don't like Cust, do you? At this point he's probably as good a stick as Berkman, and just as clumsy in the outfield, I presume. I know you have grand plans for the off-season, but your OF and DH is very bleak as it stands, with Coco pretty much the only offensive threat of the bunch. You can only get so far with a team full of 700 OPS hitters, why get rid of your only 800+ again?
