McGee and Carrasco

Postby Bozo » Mon Oct 11, 2010 8:35 pm

In my AL only keeper league I was able to pick up both McGee (TB) and Carrasco (CLEV) in September which makes them protectable for next year. They were both really cheap and both seem to have potential but I'm wondering if either one will actually do much next year. I know Carrasco has a great chance of being in the rotation next year but I don't see any openings for McGee. Or is his future as a closer? Either way, do you see McGee making the Rays and putting up decent numbers as early as next year?

Carrasco will be in the Indians rotation in 2011 while a lot depends on what Soriano ends up doing. I assume Soriano will try the FA market which will open up the closers spot in TB possibly for McGee. Still, even if Soriano stays, expect McGee to post good numbers in relief with high Ks. But I do think TB is committed to McGee in the pen for the time being.

If McGee starts the year in Tampa next year, expect it to be in the bullpen and not the rotation.
