BJ Upton and Curtis Granderson. I put up with their trash all year long, gave up and dumped both, then they go bananas right after of course.

Think I had two teams in which I had Granderson on. There was a third too in the Holics Challenge, I believe, and I wound up trading Kershaw for Granderson at or before the deadline. Needed an OF badly and had plenty of pitching to spare. I was better off trading for Grandy than drafting him, apparently.

Now, BJ Upton is a tease. Surely deserving of jerk of the year, two seasons running.

stubbs was my granderson. i couldn't stomach his .230 avg anymore so i dumped him... then he went bananas.

I definitely feel high draft picks who sucked hard forever then finally turned it on when everyone had dumped them is a real jerk type player. We gotta distinguish this from the busts somehow.

You pretty much deserved that. These players do that every year. You should have drafted with that in mind. They take commitment to roster with good overall results.

What? That's just false. BJ and grandy are not second half studs every year, their career splits are equal in the first and second halves. I didn't unload them in mid April, they were dumped to make playoff pushes in early August, successful ones at that. If name brand guys aren't getting it done and you're trying to make the playoffs, it's time to make aggressive moves and trade them for guys who are. I also had BJ in a 3 of league where an outfielder's value is pretty deflated, not hard to replace his stats.
