Brian Roberts explained Tuesday that the headaches that caused him to miss the last week of the regular season were probably self-inflicted.
Roberts said he knocked his bat hard against his helmet after striking out in the ninth inning of a game on September 27. Teams sometimes try to reclaim salary from players who suffer self-inflicted injuries, but the Orioles have not indicated a desire to do that.
