Nick Franklin?

Postby KoolPapaBell » Sat Oct 02, 2010 1:56 pm

Hi, I asked a similar question regarding Brandon Belt, and now I'm wondering about Franklin.

This is time sensitive because our rosters lock for the off-season on Monday.

Is Franklin worth picking up over any of these guys?

Matt Moore
Brett Lawrie
John Lamb
Michael Pineda
Derek Norris
Randall Delgado

It's a fairly shallow (8-team) 5*5 roto league, but with 29-man major league rosters, and we start 23 guys each week.

The league might expand by a team or two in the next couple years, but at this point, only the top 50 Starting Pitchers or so have value.

I have Franklin ranked above everybody on your list. Scouting Reports are saying his power surge is for real and he was drafted in the 1st round because his D, so he should stay at SS. If there's a decent trade market for prospects in your league, it's even more reason to pick him up. He's going to put up silly numbers at High Desert next year.

I'd pick Lawrie over Franklin as I think he has the better bat plus he runs well to boot. I think at the very least he'll be Dan Uggla with speed.
