What can I get in a trade WHIR

Postby Phillip » Fri Oct 01, 2010 2:03 pm

My top 9 are close to set (1B, 3B, CI, Util, 2B, OF, OF, SP, SP) and I am trying to see what I could conceivably look for as a 10th (right now I would either go with Andrus or extra draft pick). The positions left to be filled are: C, C, SS, MI, 3 OF, 7 P. The cats are 6X6 (OPS, Holds). I am looking for my 10th to be a hitter. The players from 10 on are:
Elvis Andrus (higher upside which is why I rate him higher than the others)
Kelly Johnson
Alexei Ramirez
Geo Soto
Adam LaRoche
Carlos Zambrano (lots of Cubs fans in the league and an amazing end to the season)
Jorge De La Rosa
Ted Lilly
Adam Lind
boatload of mediocre closers

Who would be a reasonable target for me to pursue or should I stick with Andrus, or just plan on draft pick (I really don't want to keep Johnson as I think he regresses next year and isn't a top 100 player next year.

I think you should trade your top nine players for the ever-lovable Milton Bradley. He's got so much heart and spunk, he would be a better centre for your team than David Wright and Felix Hernandez COMBINED!!!

Uh-oh... looks like one of your leaguemates found your posting. :-B

I would go with either Andrus, Alexei or Lind.... Lind behind the other two based on position played. I think both Alexei and Andrus will bounce back to where they were expected to be this season as their Sophmore Slump should have passed by then. Put a gun to my head.... I would go Andrus due to ballpark and lineup.

Thanks for your help on mine. ;-D

what was the question :-? I don't see any possible players listed you could trade for, only choices from your own roster to hold or not...The qustion listed doesn't seem to fit the rest of the post. Andrus is a fine choice as a 10th player, especially if you have a need for speed; which we also don't know. The more info you provide in the initial post, the better answers you'll get

^This!

I can't figure out what you're asking... Who for your last keeper? I think andrus is your guy, but the rest of your roster would help...

In all seriousness...

...find the two/three owners in your league (EDITORIAL NOTE - I'm not in it, I just know this guy) who have the least number of quality keepers. Figure which of them have the most needs up the middle, and blitz 'em. Offer three SS Andrus, 2B Johnson, C Soto, and SP Zambrano... as fits their needs. Or offer all 4 if they suck in C/MI. And get whatever marginal upgrade over these guys you can, if nothing else. Offering 2-3 of those players should put you in the range of a decent OF/CI/SP, but probably not quite top-tier. Maybe... CarGo (if you've got a skeptic owner), Ellsbury, Choo, McCann, Morneau, Sabathia, Carpenter, or Cl.Lee
