Is Harden worth holding on to? With the terrible spring he has had, i am thinking Cliff Lee of Cleveland might have a better year.
any comments?
Thanks!

i was thinking about dropping him/trading him. his last outing was an improvement though. it wasnt dominant but it was an improvement. he scattered 7 hits over 5 scoreless against the cubs. i decided to give him a little bit more time but he is on a short leash right now.

harden is a true talent, but really only has one pitch. fastball. he needs to develop a couple more pitches. over time playing with zito, hudson, mulder he will. that may be a season away though. i'd do like cornbread said and use him as a sweetner in a deal.just think of a one for one trade that really favors you and add harden in the deal and watch it get done.

Harden will be erratic this year. He'll look like either the next coming of Mark Prior or he could look like the next Mark Fydrich (wildness). Can't believe I referenced the Bird.

Yeah Harden wll be up & down, he is a better prospect than Lee but Lee looks to be more major league ready, that being said Harden did finally pitch 5 SO innings yesterday, though he gave up 8 hits

how does what you said make any sense? "he is a true talent....but only has one pitch". your right he is a talent but saying he only has one pitch to me seems like you don't think he is a talent at all. it takes more then one pitch to be one. also he has more then one pitch so i really don't know what your talking about.

Harden is a decent guy to have on your bench because of the potential of a breakout, but I think Cliff Lee is a guy you can put in your lineup most weeks and be pretty happy with the results, I'd go with Lee.

I have harden on one of my teams. I think it's worthed to hold on to him in the bench at least until we see how he does.

If he were on a better team and left to stew in AAA for another year, I'd take J. Bonderman over Harden. Harden is a good pitcher, but remarkably overvalued. Bonderman has absolutely senastional stuff. But he doesn't know how to pitch yet.
