Basic 5x5 roto league. Very tight race: I can end up in 1st or in 4th.
At this point, I can gain ground in k's.......and I can lose ground in ERA and WHIP.
I only have about 5 or 6 starts left before I run out of innings.....so I need to make them count.
The following SP's are either on my bench or available on the waiver wire. Please help me decide which players I should start....and which ones I should stay away from:
John Lackey @ Cws: era/whip scare me....and he is all or nothing (either a great outting or he blows up)
R.A. Dickey v. Mil: Consistently decent.....but not a lot of k's
Johnny Cueto v. Hou: Decent SP but has had a rough Sept. (5+ era)
Randy Wells @ SD: Has had a solid Sept. and pitching in SD always helps
Right now, I am leaning towards starting Lackey and Dickey.....while benching Cueto. Wells is available as a free agent.....and I am torn on whether or not to grab him as a spot starter.
What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Well, the way I see it, if you have the chance to win (I do not know where you currently sit at), then you gotta hit the home run. If you're not in first, then you got to start the guys you think will get you the K's. If you're in first, you might play it safe and play the solid ERA/WHIP guys.
I would start Dickey/Wells for playing it safe
or...
I would start Lackey/Wells for playing for first.
Good luck, and thanks for the help on mine!

Thanks for the help with mine. I would go with Lackey/Wells out of this group. Lackey might get the benefit of facing the CWS B-squad so that will help... Good luck.
