Just made a big keeper trade - what do you think?

I gave up Albert Pujols, Jimmy Rollins, and Francisco Liriano and got Mark Texiera, Jose Reyes, and Johan Santana. It's a 8 team head to head keeper league with unlimited keepers - not exactly a dynasty though.

Pre-trade roster:
C Brian McCann (Atl - C)
1B Albert Pujols (StL - 1B)
2B Dustin Pedroia (Bos - 2B)DL
3B Evan Longoria (TB - 3B)
SS Jimmy Rollins (Phi - SS)
OF Andrew McCutchen (Pit - OF)
OF Shin-Soo Choo (Cle - OF)
OF Nelson Cruz (Tex - OF)
Util Brett Gardner (NYY - OF)
Util Desmond Jennings (TB - OF)
SP Daniel Hudson (Ari - SP)
SP Adam Wainwright (StL - SP)
RP Neftali Feliz (Tex - RP)
RP Billy Wagner (Atl - RP)
P Brandon Lyon (Hou - RP)
P Francisco Liriano (Min - SP,RP)
P Max Scherzer (Det - SP)
P Brett Anderson (Oak - SP)
BN Domonic Brown (Phi - OF)
DL Carlos Santana (Cle - C)DL
BN Andrew Bailey (Oak - RP)
BN Brett Myers (Hou - SP,RP)
BN Joe Nathan (Min - RP)DL
BN Brandon Webb (Ari - SP)DL

This is my first year playing fantasy. Thanks for the advice.

Do the keepers have any salary or draft position tied to them? What is the scoring?

At face value I'd say you gave up too much. Reyes is a nice upgrade over Rollins, but not worth the downgrade at the other two spots.

Plus a trade like this - 3 for 3, the exact same positions - it's usually trading just for the sake of trading, not trading to fill a need. You have a great team, if you're going to deal for anything make it something you don't already have - a big bopper in the OF. Trading Pujols and Liriano sfor Tex and Braun, for instance. Just my $0.02.

You're team is solid and will be for many years. Hope you enjoy playing fantasy baseball. Good luck.

Sorry, but i gotta agree that it wasn't a great trade for you.

Granted, you did significantly improve your situation at SS, so the trade isn't horrible. But Tiexiera is a noticeable downgrade at 1st base. And you also downgraded yourself at SP. Liriano and Santana are close right now....but Liriano clearly gets the edge....especially long-term.

So in a 3-for-3 trade, you not only gave up the best player in the deal (by far)......you also downgraded yourself at 2 positions while only improving 1 position. That's not an ideal situation.

If you were willing to part with Pujols.....you could have....and should have....gotten more in return.

Your team still looks solid, so it might work out for you. Good luck!

Help with mine?
