My Latos for his Pedroia?

Postby Dodgerbluesc » Mon Sep 27, 2010 7:23 pm

Fairly complex league, would appreciate some input as I'm concerned about the workload for Latos and my pitching is strong without him. Latos is a callup from my minor league system though, so he has a $1.00 salary and does not cost a keeper spot for next year (nor do S. Castro, Freese, Morrison and Chacin). Pedroia however gives me 3 2B, so unless I deal one before next season I would have my DH spot used already.

So the deal would be:
Latos ($1.00) and Hart ($2.00)
for
Pedroia ($3.75)

Scoring details and complete roster below. Thanks in advance, WHIR.

Your pitching is loaded and Pedroia at that price is a steal. I would absolutely do that deal and try to move one of the other 2B. However, even if you aren't able to move one of them, I still think it would be a great deal (and besides putting Pedroia at Util another option would be dropping one of the other 2B if you feel your other keepers are better or better values.

Yeah, this is a pretty good deal. I would do it. Pedroia's price is nice, but I'm wondering how the hell is Phillips nearly $8.00? :-?

Thanks for the help on mine.

Do it!

i like Latos.....but Pedroia is the more proven commodity. And then there is the addage that bats are worth more than arms. And there are lots of outfielders roughly equivilent to Hart.....so I have no problem throwing him into the deal.

You are giving up a very young SP and a #2(at best) OF in exchange for an elite 2B.....it's almost a no-brainer.

And I am not worried about the injury with Pedroia....it's his foot....not a knee or shoulder.

Help with mine?

For sure , pick up Pedroia and try and deal a 2b, value should be high for a premium 2b, much more so than a non-elite pitcher or fielder ....

Pedroia is a great buy-low right now. For Latos, I'd definitely do it.

Thanks for the help. Made the deal.

The different prices are because we use 12 keepers and then it's an auction after that. So for instance Liriano was kept last year but went for $9 in auction.
