Keep 3: Who doesn't make the cut? WHIR

Postby SumG » Fri Sep 24, 2010 4:57 pm

I was fortunate enough to draft 4 killer keepers for next year, but can only keep 3. Who should I keep from:

Miguel Cabrera
Joey Votto
Robinson Cano
Troy Tulowitski

Its a 10 team 6x6 H2H league (+OPS).

Leave a link and I'll try to help out.

First thought is that Cano and Tulo should definitely be there b/c of position scarcity, even if they would be slightly behind the other two in overall rankings. Beyond that I like Votto's lineup, ballpark and SB contribution more than MCab and would probably say that your three should be Cano, Tulo, and Votto (and boy that hurts to send back MCab).

could depend on your roster requirements. If you start 1 at each position (no corner)and the other 1st basemen would be your utility I could see dropping 1 of them. suffice it to say whoever gets the boot is the 1st pick next year

I guess I'd drop Votto, but does it really matter? You'll have 3 1st rounders.

I think the cut would be between Cano and Tulo. I'm a Yankee fan so my choice would be to keep Cano. Flip a coin, you can't go wrong keeping either one.

SS looks sparse for the next few years so I'd keep Tulo. I'd probably roll with Cano as well and wait to see that Cabrera controlled his weight again this offseason before selecting him over Votto. As someone said it really shouldn't matter. You hold a dominant edge on your league going in with 3 first rounders.

I would keep Tulo and Cano becuase you could end up with a real dog at those positions otherwise, after that I would flip a coin ...
