Potential keeper trade offers I want to send (WHIR)

Postby Phillip » Tue Sep 21, 2010 4:29 pm

10 team, 10 keepers regardless of where drafted, 2 more years until rosters are reset, 2 C, 1B, 3B, CI, 2B, SS, MI, 5 OF, Util, 9 Pitchers, 6X6 (extra categories OPS and holds). My top keeper candidates: Pujols, Howard, Wright, Dunn (Util next year), Phillips, Andrus, J.Upton, McCutchen, Lincecum, F.Hernandez, Verlander. Fringe guys: K.Johnson, AlexeiRamirez, AdamLaRoche, Soto (lots of Cubs fans in the league)

Rank these trade offers in the order that you would make them and let me know if there are any that I shouldn’t make:
A) Give: Dunn/Verlander; Get: Adrian Gonzalez
B) Give: Dunn/Verlander/Phillips; Get: Adrian Gonzalez/Pedroia
C) Give: Verlander and choice of Alexei Ramirez, Kelly Johnson, Adam LaRoche or Soto; Get: Pedroia
D) Give: Verlander and choice of Andrus, Alexei Ramirez, Kelly Johnson, Adam LaRoche or Soto; Get: Mauer
E) Give: Dunn and choice; Get Mauer (is this giving up too much as it is an OPS league and 40 HR guys are rare?)
F) Give: Dunn and choice; Get Fielder (I doubt the guy would accept it, but one never knows)
G) Give: Verlander; Get: Nelson Cruz
H) Give: Dunn and choice; Get: Youkilis
I) Give: Verlander and choice; Get: Youkilis
J) Give: Verlander and Dunn; Get Youkilis (is this too much? It would make Andrus my 10th keeper)
K) Give: Verlander; Get: Victor Martinez (I know that VMart didn’t have as great a year this year, but I think that he could bounce back and I am leary about Verlander)
L) Give: Dunn and choice; Get: Morneau
M) Give: Dunn and Verlander; Get: Morneau (same deal as Youkilis, is it too much? It would make Andrus my 10th keeper

B is definitely my favorite, what catchers are looking to be available for drafting next season? Carlos Santana? Wieters?

One more possibility (although not super likely): Dunn for Kemp

Agreed on B ... some of the others are tempting, but the health concerns of the players involved make it a gamble for me. You are getting studs in AGonz and Pedroia...

I'd rather trade Upton than Dunn. Although Upton might be better than Dunn by a hair, I think what you get back in trade for him is substantially higher than for Dunn. That will help your team more.

I like B... but I'm almost inclined to D as well due to the lack of depth at the C position... as good as Santana and Posey have been, C is still a position that doesn't have enough studs in it. As bad of a season that Mauer had, I think that next season, he'll be healthy again.

B looks good too. Personally, I like Philips more than Pedroia... but that's just because I hate the Red Sox... haha.

I like both A and B.
Reason I would think on A is because I am always high on Phillips. If he can get his head in the game, there isn't an offensive statline he won't put good numbers into (except maybe avg, and then he doesn't exactly kill you)

Then again, a healthy Pedroia is something to see, isn't he?

I like B, H, D, C, L in that order. Dunn is a stud in OPS leagues but Youk is Youk man. Thanks for the help!
