So looks like I will be playing for the championship next week (unless I just jinxed myself!!!). Anyhoo, who would you keep for 2011? We keep 10 players plus our 2 minor leaguers. Its a 12 team H2H POINTS league where we count pretty much everything. I narrowed it down but am wondering about keeping pitchers vs. hitters. Our league is almost always won by the team with the best pitching so I am leaning towards actually keeping 4 or 5 of them this year, especially since they are top notch. SO KEEP LEE, GALLARDO, AND MARMOL ALSO??? WHAT DO YOU THINK??? I listed all the positions we start and all I am thinking of keeping. Definite keepers are bolded. THANKS AND WHIR!!!
Note: We have -1 for KO's so that is one reason why Rios is a good keeper over say Kemp or Hart
C - Miguel Montero
1B - Miguel Cabrera
2B - Ian Kinsler
SS - Hanley Ramirez

Solid team. I suggest keeping you premier SP and Kemp over Marmol. Good relief pitching is a plus, but it is also so unpredictable for the most part (and not quite as productive pts-league wise) that I'd rather have the second OF than a closer. Kemp is having an off-season, but I feel he can bounce back in 2011.
Who do you like as a keeper here?

Thanks. Yeah, I guess between Kemp and Marmol is probably my main choice right now (since I really am leaning towards keeping Lee and Gallardo so I have a great staff). Marmol is a real asset in my league also though because we count saves as 15 pts...compared to 10 for a win and 5 for a quality start of a starting pitcher. And even though he may not get 40 saves, his Ks will keep him up there with the top closers. So I guess my question is since I have to start 4 relievers does it make sense to keep him over Kemp...especially since I have Jennings as a possible starting OFer for next year as well? Tough call putting Kemp (and even Rasmus/Bruce/Hart) out there into the pool again but I think it may be easier to 1) get Kemp back and 2) find a comparable OFer in this format.

For the last 3 I would say Gallardo for sure, C.Lee (only way he ends up in a hitters park is with the Yankees and Ws should in theory even that out) and Kemp (who is going to be much more solid without Torre yanking him around)

I would definitely say Lee and Gallardo. If you think Kemp's strikeouts are too harmful then you might consider Marmol, but I would say it's between those two for the last spot.
Thoughts on mine?
