Choose keepers right now

If you had to pick keepers right now who would it be? Keep 5, round listed also. Some are obvious...

Fielder - 3
Kemp - 4
Zimmerman - 6
Ethier - 6
Cruz - 6
Stanton - 21
Pedroia - 1(too early, but since we had keepers, that is where he went)
Carlos Santana - 21

I traded Greinke/Sandoval for Zimmerman, and Kershaw for Ethier earlier in the year, so I don't have any keeper pitchers.

1) Fielder (no brainer)
2) Zimmerman (nice value here)
3) Kemp (probably fair value @ rd# 4......steal if he ever starts trying)
4) Cruz (I like him a bit more than Ethier)

The last one is tough.

I like Ethier, but you can find plenty of guys like him in the draft. I am not entirely sold on Stanton, but great value at rd#21. And Pedroia is a stud (when healthy) at a scarce postion, but is he worth a 1st rounder?

Basically, it comes down to what kind of talent you think will be available in your draft. If you think there will be a lot of players with value equal to (or berrer than) Pedroia, I would keep Stanton and then try to draft a beast in the 1st round. If pickings will probably be thin in the 1st round of your draft, then I would say you have to lock up at least 1 middle infield position by keeping Pedroia.

Since Pedroia went in the 1st round previously, I suspect that the talent in your drafts aren't all that great...even in the first round. Therefore, my 5th official pick for you is:

5) Pedroia (not really a 1st rounder...but would you really get a better guy if you held onto your 1st rd pick?)

I think It's pretty easy. I've never trusted Cruz. I could see some taking him over Kemp. The first 4 are must keepers.

Good value on the two prospects and the other three are no brainers. I thought long and hard about kemp but it seems like you may be able to redraft him at a better value. If you disagree I'd take him over stanton
