Here is my roster in a 12 team H2H league. The bold are players I've already chosen (most of them are obvious choices). I can't decide on a 6th. I'm thinking McCutchen or Hamels? Any help is appreciated. Leave a link and I'll help with yours.

I usually take bats over arms, but in this case I'd take Hamels over McCutchen 9 times out of 10, and this is one of the 9. Reasons I say this is because you have more then enough speed already in your keepers and I don't think there is any chance I would be throwing a 10+win 200K, low 3ERA guy into the draft.

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...

I hav to agree, Hamels is the way to go.
Even with the general rule of "bats before arms", there is nothing wrong with a split of 4-bats/2-arms. Hamels is much better than any of the remaining hitters on your roster. Also, by taking Hamesl you wont be tempted to reach for a SP in the first couple of rounds of the draft.
Help with mine?

As the other said, Hamels over McCutchen. Your keeper offense looks great for 2011, but with several keepers and only 1 SP, you would still be in some trouble. Hamels has pitched well and has the upside to keep this going for years to come (Oswalt looks great in Philly, but he is older).
Who do you keep here?

I would beg to differ from the other comments. I would go with McCutchen. With it being a 12 team league with 6 keepers you are looking at having top 72 talent. I don't know that Hamels has proven consistent enough over a longer period of time. McCutchen on the other hand is continuing to improve and has the upside of Crawford which would be invaluable. They are pretty well even in where they are right now, but I think that the upside of McCutchen is much higher and we have seen what the downside of Hamels is in other years.

Very close, especially with my own preference for hitters over pitchers as well. Assuming you're not using OBP as a category, I'd go with Hamels by a few hairs.
Thoughts on mine?
