Cruz/Dunn/Rasmus for Kemp? WHIR

Postby Montana168 » Fri Sep 10, 2010 9:16 pm

it is a Yahoo! h2h 5x5 standard cat DYNASTY league (keep entire roster every year).

My team is the 3rd seed and I am currently tied with the 6th seed 5-5 but I own the ERA tiebreaker, however about to be down 5-4 if shields holds on for the win. I have put Kemp on the trading block but I am limited because our league only allows trading during the playoffs with only teams that are in the playoffs, so I am limited to the top 6 teams. I have been offered the following trade:

I give:
Matt Kemp

I get:
Nelson Cruz
Adam Dunn
Colby Rasmus

The deal surely helps me for the playoffs, but I don't think it is great long-term and if i get knocked out this weekend it will have been a waste. Is it worth the risk? Or is this a good deal either way? I was also offered Mark Reynolds, Torii Hunter, and Jay bruce..although I told that owner that I would need BJ Upton in the deal to do it. Interested in anyones opinion, as always, leave a link and I'll help your team out, Thanks.

I think this trade favors you quite heavily. Kemp is a fantasy stud, but Cruz and Rasmus have huge upside if they can stay healthy, and Dunn is very consistent. I would do it immediately and drop Agon and Crisp

I'd do it. I really agree with:

I wouldn't trade Kemp in a dynasty.

Thanks for the help guys, I chose not to do the trade. As Hootie stated, trading Kemp in a dynasty league is tough to do. If this were a redraft league, of course I'd do that trade in a heartbeat. But trading a guy with 30/30 .300 potential is not always a wise move unless you are getting a deal that you can't refuse, and this isn't that.
