Tie goes to the...?

Postby hairybeacon » Wed Sep 08, 2010 8:35 pm

Hi guys, I am in a 10 category H2H league. In a playoff matchup, what do you suggest to be the tie-breaker in the case that the two teams that are playing each other winds up in a tie. ESPN defaults to the higher seed, which I dont like. I have heard the suggestion of head-to-head record. Again, that is pertinent to the regular season, it does not feel right to have that determine a playoff matchup that ends in a tie. I think it should come from the 2 week playoff between the two teams.

Thanks

Don't really like the idea of using either playoff record or seeding. Tie-breaks suck no matter what, but regular season results between the two teams are at least a reflection on how the teams fare against each other.
He once hit a ball between my legs so hard that my center-fielder caught it on the fly backing up against the wall.

If Satch (Paige) and I were pitching on the same team, we would clinch the pennant by July fourth and go fishing until World Series time.

I like H2H regular season results best for the tie breaker.

I just looked at the settings and the H2H is for tied teams at the end of the regular season. I did not see anything that referred to ties in the playoffs. Are you sure that it defaults to high seed? Where did you see that? Thanks,
