Have a need for speed

Postby crapshooter » Tue Sep 07, 2010 9:01 am

I'm needing to pick up some speed in a player to be used as expansion player for rest of the season in straight NL 13 team league. Are there any minor leaguers called up who might get me a few stolen bases?

Ben Revere of Minnesota just got the call up. In AA New Britain, he swiped 36 in fewer than 400 AB and batted 305. He'll probably be mostly used as a pinch runner, but he is really fast...

I doubt Revere will work since its a NL only.

Are Lorenzo Cain end Eric Young Jr gone? Also McClouth got called back up, and has gotten a few starts, maybe he was dropped?

Danny Espinosa

He has decent speed and while I would expect a lower batting average, his OBP should be good enough to get him chances to steal. Plus he does have some power too. Although I wouldn't expect too many more 2 HR days like yesterday!

13 team NL only there isn't anything available that wasn't in the minors last week. Ciriaco for Pitt or even old man Jay Payton might work

Darren Ford (SF) could pick up a few SB, though it'll mostly be as a pinch runner as he won't start.
