I'm in a 12 team 5X5 Dynasty league. I Have an abundance of SPs, but I can't keep them all. I have a few definite keepers, but I also have a few inconsistant pitchers that are on the bubble. I need to let 2 go. I would appreciate your input.
Francisco Liriano no explaination needed CC Sabathia No explaination needed Jordan Zimmermann high upside Jeff Niemann consistent, low k rate James Shields terrible 1st half, mediocore 2nd half, high K rate Carl Pavano bubble injury risk, low K rate Kevin Sloweybubble bad 1st half, decent 2nd half Johnny Cuetobubblevery inconsistent , he's either good or bad Mike Pelfreybubblevery low k rate, looks like my bottom guy(shut up pervs)
I'm assuming that the means you're keeping them. So of the other 4 remaining I think Cueto and Pelfrey would be the ones I'd continue to hold onto as well
cueto's definitely the top of those 4, id say slowey's the bottom...pelfrey and pavano have both been alternately great and awful this year, but in a keeper i think edge goes to pelfrey as the younger guy with more upside, i think what weve seen this year is the best you could hope for from him and i wouldn't be surprised to see a significant drop next year. pelfrey's a little bit of a gamble, but hes got a pretty high upside as well.
I'd protect Slowey and Cueto. IMO they are the ones with the most upside and since you already have some solid arms I'd be willing gamble on that. Pelfrey doesn't get enough Ks to be a stud and Pavano's upside is also limited by lack of Ks.
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.
